1985 D110 200 Tdi 3 door in Rileysville, VA $12.5K

Would someone buy this truck already?

http://washingtondc.craigslist.org/d...980081861.html

This is not my truck and I am not the seller - I am just tired of seeing the Craigs List add popping up and tempting me.

I actually wanted a 110 initially just so I could use it as a camper on the trail.

Looks like a nice truck. It's just too bad there's no photos of the potential pitfalls: bulkhead, door bottoms, and frame.

At first glance thats either a 300tdi or (as seems often the case) someone has bodged a disco 200 into it, which is generally a mess.
I had to remove one recently that had been welded in. Had to cut the motor mounts and exhaust off off remove it. The exhaust was a spaghetti incident that was burning the paint off the bulkhead (or perhaps firewall in this case)

Swapping a 200tdi in a defender that had a 19j is common(and easy in and out) in the UK .I prefer the 200tdi because it is more reliable and more fuel efficient than a 300tdi and the disco 200 has more horsepower. It's not my truck but I have seen it. The owner(down the road)restores really spectacular Series and decided that he prefers LR series. He's working on a series 2a to beat to the band. He has helped me with my defender and with my RRC and he knows his stuff.

As long as it is RHD, the disco 200tdi is a fine swap.

Yes, it does have a 200tdi. Here are some more pics. I'm confused as to why this hasn't sold yet. I lowered the price to $12,500 now. I also have parts to convert it to a 5 door as well.

I've lowered the price to $11,500, buy it now on Ebay. This is a 200TDI, it was from a low mileage Discovery, it runs great, it was done properly. This swap is made all of the time in the UK and is pretty straightforward. I just moved back from the UK and I've seen many with this conversion. There are several shops there that specialize in this. I would suggest contacting one of these shops with your concerns over this type of swap. Maybe they will be nice enough to explain the process. I do have the fan shroud but seeing that I do not live in the Sahara, I haven't bothered to put it back on yet.

Are the 5-door conversion parts included for that price?
