1985 110 Time Warp

Listing this truck for a friend who isn't on the board. If anyone is interested in it, feel free to PM me and I will forward your info to the owner. The owner is in the process of moving from CA to NJ and doesn't think he will have the room for this with his other cars. I personally think he should keep it because it is impossible and unlikely to come across another like this. This truck is an insane time warp and really needs to go to a collector, not someone who is planning to modify it.

Funny story or maybe a sad story about this truck. It is so original and clean that when it was imported it was seized because Customs didn't know what they were looking at. After months and lawyer fees it was let in when they figured out it was just a super clean original truck. So here are the details:

1985 110 w/ 2.5 NA Diesel (RHD)
  • All matching numbers ( engine, gearbox, axle)
  • County trim level
  • Stratos Blue
  • 19,xxx original and documented miles ( tax disc, MOT testing certificates, etc, included)
  • Absolutely no rust
  • Runs flawlessly
  • Purchased from original owner in 2011
  • Legally imported with CBP letter of approval
  • Fanatically maintained with hoses, belts, timing belts, fluid, etc replaced at time intervals..rather than mileage ( all documented)
  • Seats have been covered since new! Absolutely no signs of wear and literally in showroom condition
  • Opening of door panel still shows all galvanized door mechanisms
  • Key code label still affixed to dash ( was supposed to removed at delivery)
  • Grease pencil factory markings still on underside
  • Residue of Blue protective film still present on AWD transfer case directions
  • Warranty book, owners manual, full set of keys ( with key codes)
  • I will include a roof top tent with awning ( 2k value) and thule bars

Negative:
  • Slight paint rash below gas cap ( previous owner must have let cap dangle when filling)
  • Slight pain rash below drivers slide door lock tumbler ( previous owner must has had a large key ring the brushed against paint)
  • Both of the above are easy to cure...I elected to leave them so the car doesn’t appear restored

Price is 50k or best offer. Feel free to ask me any questions and anything I don't know I can find out from the owner.

iS THIS THE TRUCK THAT WAS SOLD BY SIMMONITES AND THE OWNER HAD PROBLEMS CONVINCING CUSTOMS THAT IT WAS AN ORIGINAL TRUCK? AND IT COST HIM A SMALL FORTUNE IN LEGAL FEED TO GET IT IN, I BELIEVE HE WORKED FOR VOLVO OR SOMETHING SIMILAR?

Its a beautiful truck.

19k original documented miles. Looks like it just rolled out of the factory. So epic.

I agree I would keep it just as it is, what a gorgeous truck!
Was this setting in some showroom?

I think the owner stored it and obviously rarely drove it.

Ha! I too remember when he was struggling to get this back from CBP. We vented and shared CBP war stories a couple times as he was getting through the process. Certainly hope it goes to a good home and it lives a good long useful life.

Truck is no longer for sale. Owner decided it was dumb to sell and it will be making the move to NJ.

Thanks everyone
