1984 RHD Diesel LR90 Defender 90

Hi Guys,
I am testing the waters, and putting my 84 LR90 up for sale. Absolutely love the truck but Iím in the middle of a move to New Orleans from Philly and it would mean one less thing to move down and the fact that it doesnít have AC in 100 degree weather makes wonder if I will use it as much L. If Iím not able to sell it, she will loaded on the truck and come with us. So no urgent or financial need to sell it, as such Iím strict on the price. I would ask $10,500, this is what I paid for it and I have done some improvements as well.

I have bought the Defender in March of 2012 from Dylan. It is a 1984 Land Rover 90 model with a 2.5 NA diesel engine (gets about 25 mpg) mated to a LT77 5 speed transmission and is right hand drive. It has 213000 miles on it. It has a LT230 two speed differential, with a good low range gear and locking center differential. It has disc brakes up front, and drums in the rear. (I had just ordered a new set of rotors and pads from Rovers North and I would be willing to include them. I havenít had a the time to put it on yet). The truck has 24 spline axles unlike most 1980's 110/90's which have 10 spline axles, meaning they are heavy duty. The frame, crossmember and bulkhead are in solid shape with no rust, floor boards are also good. No major leaks (all LRís leak a little). The car was sprayed by one of the prior owner and looks good for a 28 year old truck. Truck is registered in PA and the title in clean and in my possession. It currently is located outside Philadelphia.

I also have records and receipts of everything i did and those included when I bought for the truck. The truck has had the following done by me and the prior owner (also a active forum member).

POR-15'd chassis
Tuffy center console with both keys (currently have the middle seat installed. Tuffy center console would be included)
Hella headlights
replaced timing belt and all timing components
replaced glow plugs
Goodyear Duratracs 235/85/16's have less than 3000 miles on it .
replaced all filters
replaced all fluids
new clutch, and clutch components
replaced slave cylinder
replaced radiator
replaced the master cylinder and hard clutch lines
replaced all fuses and bulbs (brake, signal, etc) lights
replace reverse lights switch, have spare transfer case switch, havenít had time to install it yet
replaced axle breather (front and rear)
new exhaust
rhino lined floor
pin/needle size hole in differential fixed

The one area where there is some need for attention is the door frames. Like all defenders, the door design is pretty bad. The bottoms are rusty and will need some work in the future.

Let me know if you have any questions, just PM me. If you would like I can provide any additional detailed photos of the frame, bulkhead and floors etc.

Regards,
Stephan

Nice truck and a good deal - It would cost you about this much to import one of this quality, if not more. Good luck with the sale.

I had gotten some requests for additional photos and figured other folks would want to see them as well.

I also took a video of the engine running but its 50mb and will need to upload it to you tube.

No AC

I drive my 1985 D90 in Galveston heat with no AC, if you sell it you will regert it, unless you are getting the Rover bug out of your system.
Suck it up man

Looks good, if only mine looked that good now. ship it put a tdi in then AC .

I had gotten some questions regarding the photos of the white rim. I just had the original tire taken off and had the rim blasted and painted. It will need a new tire.
