1984 LHD D90 300tdi

1984 Land Rover Defender 90 soft top, LHD, legally imported with Arizona title and plates. 300Tdi, auto trans, A/C, Power Steering, 4 wheel disc brakes, Galvanized Chassis (2009), ex-MOD roll bar, uprated intercooler with lots of power, diamond plate in bed, 2 bench seats in back, seats 6 total, new timing belt, rear main seal, too much to list, 92K miles on the body, less than 10K on the chassis, good compression on all cylinders. MPG in the mid to high 20's, $40K invested, asking $29K. The truck and I are working in LA until January 15 after that I will be in BC, Canada, but the rig will be garaged and available to show in Tucson, AZ. if you'd like to see it, shoot me an email through the forum, This is one of the nicest privately imported D90's you will see. I am extremely busy, so no tire kickers, etc. If you are a Land Rover enthusiast looking for a nice Tdi, this will not disappoint, not mint, but in extremely good condition with no rust issues. Also, feel free to call with questions, 520-309-5530. If you'd like more detailed photos, when I get to Tucson, I will shoot a bunch of high resolution pics, and can send them to you then.
Thanks,
JD

that's a good looking truck, not a fan of the wheels but the rest is brilliant, any chance you have more pics?

This is the best I could do for the moment until I get a day to properly photo-document the truck with some high-res photos. Also, if I don't sell it before, I will have the truck at the Overland Expo in Amado, AZ in April.

PS I am jealous of your location, Wilmington has got to be one of my favorite cities in the US!

Truck has been posted on Autotrader, should be up within 24 hours with lots of photos and lowered price to $24,900.00.

Nice! I should have let you know I was up in Newport for some time. Didn't know people were interested. PM me if you want some places to go while you're there.

Ahh. Truck is in Tucson right now. Josh (Crash303) and I are piling into his D90 to make the trip, and then have a 2-truck convoy back home.

6 Hours each way, as long as we don't hit desert traffic on the way home.

Nice work! I thought this sounded like a good match with what you were looking for.

Please post the mandatory pics once you get it home.

Will do.... just got home to San Diego, had the celebratory beer with my best friend and fellow roverholic... but now time to hit the rack. Pics will come tomorrow. In the end, it was exactly as described. Minor little glitches here and there (mostly electric) but the drivetrain and chassis are SOLID.

Thanks to Josh (Crash303) for not only carting me out there, but doing it in his D90. We had a nice 2 truck convoy all the way back to San Diego.

at the risk of stating the obvious, the truck is sold, also, to the new owner: Falconworks in Tucson has a ton of spare parts that they can send you (turbo, injection system, etc.) If you want them, call them! Enjoy the new rig! Also, the turn signals are finicky due to the hazard switch, mess around with it, and they should come back, or replace the hazard switch and you should be good to go! JD

(sigh) Went to DMV today to get the Tdi all registered, but it turns out for some bizarre reason the AZ registration says Gas, and the title doesn't say either way. But the paperwork from ADOT provided by the PO also says diesel, as does the MOT paperwork from Duncan who imported.

Long story short is that this has become a major pain in my ass. As in DMV and CHP inspections, and the dreaded word in California, "referee". All because it says Gas on the AZ registration.

The AAA DMV guy was ready to sign everything off until he saw that.

If it had been diesel would AAA just let it through with a smog exemption?

At DMV now, the first step in the process.

Not sure if AAA would have signed off, as we never got to that point; but it seemed like it.
