1984 Landrover STAGE ONE LHD, V8 GAS low mileage

Excellent Original LHD Landrover Stage One V8

Here we have for sale a very well preserve all original LHD pre Defender Stationwagon with a factory fitted 3.5 litre V8 gas engine.

We search the entire European Continent for low mileage, LHD 1983 / 1989 Defenders and pay top money for a good candidate especially low mileage one like this one. Low original miles, 109000 km / 69000 miles.

Due to new law inforcement at the border by US border protection and US customs, most of the Landrover rebuilds that are imported from the UK are held up and seized , some have non original chassis, some have modern axles or others have a later Tdi engine fitted.

The search has now begun for all original vehicles in very good condition and obviously LHD is a big advantage over the RHD versions coming from the United Kingdom.

This particular Red and Ivory 3 door Stationwagon is a totally stock model, unmolested. The paint is still bright and shiny, carrying a nice patina. There is some stone chipping on the front wings and hood as can be expected from a 30 year old truck. See detailed photographs of the wingtop and hood below

Chassis in outstanding condition, never welded or repaired. New spring fitted last year, brakes in good condition.

The bulletproof and strong 3.5 litre V8 gas engine is the same that was used in the classic Range Rover for many years. It has just been serviced with new oil, new filters, new spark plugs. She starts right up and runs smooth.

The strong LT95 4 speed gearbox which works at permanent 4 wheel drive shifts perfect and smoothly.

It does 125 KM/ H or 80 MPH on the highway with MPG of 15 / 18 MPG.

New ivory powdercoated rims fitted , also new powdercoated winch bumper, new headlight grills, new grill panel, new side protectors and new wingtops. New winch with remote control installed.

Interior in very good condition, original black vinyl front seats, new front rubber mats. Currently fitted with just 2 benchseats in the cargo area, but we can fit 2 extra 2-man bench seats

Selling price $ 15000 plus shipping

With the rules getting stricter all the time, can this vehicle be registered in New York State? It is not a NAS model so I am not sure what issues we might have. What is shipping costs roughly?
Thanks

Not really sure that question needs to be asked in every.single.one.of.his.for.sale.ads. The word "original" was used quite a few times throughout his ad in describing this truck, and "original" seems to be the name of the game these days when it comes to importing and registering.

Thumbs up

Nice Stage One! This one has the original "Land Rover V8" decals above the rear wheels and that is primo in the cool-guy Stage One Geek-Clubs.

From the photos - it appears that this truck also has the LPG mixer installed in the engine compartment. Normally, when the Stage One's were modified for LPG, they installed a huge LPG tank in the rear load space. There were no photos of the load space - so you might want to clarify all of this in your post. (I will not begin to pretend to understand if it makes a difference or not for importing if it was modified to accept petrol and LPG. )

Finally - those are some shiny lugnuts. (I know, I spend too much time looking at Stage One photos)

P.S. - Ask for money $$$ so my truck goes up in value, too

exactly!

that was my concern ... whether the stage one was petroll or LPG because on rivermike's web site there is a picture with the LPG tank right behind the drivers seat...

the question ..... petrol or LPG?

It runs on bi fuel, LPG as well as Petrol, it has a switch on the dash. we will probably have to remove the mixer and tank for US customs.

This is a authentic vehicle, Original V8 from the factory, Original gearbox, Original drum brake axles, Original chassis.

Just spoke to Clint Lindsay from the DOT, Importation and Certification Division, he confirmed the following which we knew already .... EPA / DOT / CBP do a vin check when the vehicle is brought it, everything should match, so you CANNOT convert RHD to LHD, Petrol to Diesel or viceversa, 3 dr to 5 dr...

Glad to tell you all everything matches on this truck. I am willing to give a full refund if the vehicle is rejected at port ...

Not a problem to get this through customs, it is all Original, we will remove the LPG mixer and tank. The tank is mounted on the loadfloor in a frame, the frame is bolted onto the floor so it can be easily removed. If you buy and I cannot get it in I will refund you every dime.

Shipping is around $ 1650

Best regards,Michael

Since the LPG conversion is not really in demand in the US - I would pull those parts and re-sell to a Euro-customer. This truck does look sweet - it is what mine hopes to grow up into (or rather what it once was....).

GLWS.
