X2 - agreed

as the former owner and a follower of Jay's efforts and restoration of this truck, all I can say is that somebody needs to buy this quickly. Even sans the Puma seats, this is is a good buy. Hard to find original body panels in this kind of condition and he has done a TON of work underneath.

this is an awesome 110. I have driven in it and driven it. The 200tdi and everything is solid. My registry has a pic of this 110 when it was out in nantucket

Send me some larger photos and I will forward to one of my clients. He likes collecting. He drives a different Defender each day.

so we are putting in a offer tonight on a cabin that we dont have the cash for since I have a 2 tone 1984 paperweight sitting in my driveway - maybe im doing this wrong?

Let me start over "Anyone know what my truck is worth?"

i learned in Economics (price theory) that price is determined by what the market is willing to pay for it....

Jay, honestly I'm shocked that your truck has not sold...the effort/etc that you have into it, it is a solid/clean truck and would be a perfect candidate for someone not wanting a "project" but rather a well-sorted vehicle. And your initial asking price is more than fair!

Btw I do owe you a phone call, got distracted with some regular-life stuff...

Agreed - it does not need any immediate attention and I feel that like me there must be people who want something a little more turn key

Its like the cabins we looked at - sure we could spend less but those are complete dumps in flood zones that need a ton of work and money put into them - as a result we are putting in a offer on a place that needs nothing - something we can enjoy the first weekend we take ownership - kind of like saving a few dollars on the purchase but having it in the shop a bunch or having to source parts - kill rust etc

My buyer is someone who is more like me a little lazy and not wanting to hassle with importing something and having to go though all the hurdles I did to get it in good shape

and I know that the majority of the guys on here can turn a wrench but I know there are also a lot of people who can see value in something you could buy and start enjoying on day 1 -

Im assuming the down payment is what the 110 is going towards? I would say keep the 110 to drive to/around the new property but the mortgage rates and property values are pretty ridiculously low still which makes it a great time to buy. GLWS.

the property is so cheap relative that we are going to buy with 100% cash or at least thats the plan - part of how to get a smoking deal on the property - so no mortgage - although will need 4 wheel drive to get to the cabin?

I can't believe it hasn't sold either. It gets to the point where you have to think that there is just not a buyer at this moment, rather than it's not worth $2X,XXX. Don't give it away!

KEEP HER!

I think the market softned a bit just becasue of the sheer volume of ROW Defenders that were coming in over the past few years. That had to have an impact on the market.
To put it into perspective, when I was selling your truck in mid-late 2011 it was exposed to all the right markets (D-90, ACK....though I didn't do eBay) and it still took 5-6 months before somebody stepped up with cash.

Jay I don't know if you remember, but a few days before you had called me to tell me that you wanted it, another guy was scheduled to drive down from upstate NY to take it (presumably he wanted it). So, two things really.
1) it sometimes takes longer than you'd expect to sell a specialty toy;
2) often times there are no buyers, then a few emerg all at the same time.

Just don't give it away, it's a strong truck with the right look.

Im sure youve mulled keeping the 110, putting 20% down, and financing the rest? Cant think of a better combo than hill country and Defenders. Mine is only accessible by 4WD or snow machine 7 months out of the year. Im probably preaching to the choir here....

Is that a "full release/happy ending" massage?
