1984 Defender 90 RHD 2.5NA All Original $20k Price for Quick Sale

I have been viewing DefenderSource for quite some time, but finally decided to create an account today for the purposes of selling one of my classics. This is my 6th Land Rover in the past 5 years so I am not a noobie or someone that bought something he thought was "cool" but knows nothing else about it. Although this is my first post I am not new to the Land Rover world. OK - I am done with my disclaimer now

1984 Defender 90 Country Wagon located in Melbourne Beach, FL 32951

Feel free to find additional information on my Craigslist or ClassicCar.com postings as well located here:

Craigslist
1984 Land Rover Defender 90 RHD ALL ORIGINAL!

ClassicCars
1984 Land Rover Defender for Sale | ClassicCars.com | CC-668366

YouTube Walk around Videos (5 short ones):

I have had Gateway Classics and a few others want to put in their inventory, but I have always handled selling and shipping my own cars - hence deciding to post where I should have posted from the get go.

Priced at $19,950.00 for a faster and less hassle sale. I have other projects that I need to focus on and provide space for. Comes with Clean FL Title in my name. Runs and drives as it should and is ready to go. Even had my Land Rover tech change the oil yesterday.

Can arrange for shipping throughout US or International at buyers expense.

Thanks.

Hey Wayne, welcome to the forum. By All Original, Do you mean all original Land Rover parts? Roof, doors, wheels, interior, don't seem 84ish.

Thanks for the warm welcome. By all original I mean all numbers matching - engine, tranny, mileage, etc.

The elements that may not seem "84ish" in my opinion are the upgraded rims/pirelli tires and the "Land Rover" badging on the hood. Perhaps you could also argue that the chequer plate kit, and snorkel could be added to that list as well...?

My main objective was to keep the Heritage spirit on this build, but to add a few updated elements that suited my particular taste. They may not suit everyone the same way, but that is also why we each have our own Defenders and not exact copies I suppose.

Any other questions feel free to pepper them over. I have already received a few PM's since posting yesterday afternoon.

Actually the lift-up handle one-piece doors and the Series LR style seat frames are about as original as you can get.

Welcome to the forum and good luck with the sale. Looks like a nice vehicle.

Did LR record component serial #'s in those years? I thought I read somewhere they did not. Just curious.

Yes, my Heritage cert. confirms my 90 (built Dec 84) still retains all of it's original factory stamped numbers, of course chassis and vin plate but also engine, gearbox, front axle, rear axle. It also has a key number listed but unfortunately I don't have the original stamped key, unless it's stamped under the plastic but I doubt it.

Can you post a pic of that report by chance?

SOLD - Full price sale ($20k) - D90 is currently in route from Florida to Mexico City, Mexico as of 5/13/16...nearly 3,000 mile journey. New owner is adding this to existing collection of a 1977 Series III 109 and a 1959 Series II pickup. Glad to see if go to owners that will really appreciate owning a first year D90.

Yeah, as Clay said, that's not the original roof, nor are those the original van sides.

FYI - An '84 should have a ribbed roof and the separate seal lip on the van sides.

Who is Clay, and no one mentioned anything about roof lines - as I missing something here?

Also - what is your point? Some of the replies on here seem very pointless at times? I was simply updating the thread as sold so I don't get any PM's or interest.

Thanks.

The forum is just informing you that several things on that truck are not original.
