1983 Land Rover Defender 110 County

Choices: House or Defender?

Well, the house has won so I am selling our LR Defender 110 5 door County. Over the past year alone we have invested over $7,000 in service and upgrades from shocks, engine, etc.

What we have is a LR Defender 1983 County 5 Door. We have owned this truck for over 5 years. It has been kept in a garage and serviced regularly. Most recently, we had it serviced and updated at The Shop in Atlanta. Anything and everything that was recommended was done at the time (December 2016/January 2017). In addition to the seating that came with the truck, I also purchased 4 jump seats and new front seats which will go with the purchase if desired. We also have the rear bench seats as well if preferred.

The truck has 203,000 miles on it and we purchased at 200,000 miles so over the 5 years we have driven it on a limited basis but serviced and improved the functionality of the truck. You can see from the photos that it can be a daily driver or used as a base for a complete overhaul show truck.

Call 770-773-6072 for questions related to the truck. For additional photos and videos please text.

Sale price: $25,000 (over $32,000 invested)

I should add lots of information I didn't think of at the time:

RHD, V8

Upgrades: Stainless bolt system, new rear window tracks, fenders, full 2nd set of seats, rear bench and 4 jump seats, front center console, new shocks, new tires, lights, electronic ignition, along with many many odds and ends. The SHOP in atlanta did all work on the truck.

Strong solid truck

GLWTS

This a pic of your cousin. I brought her over in 2010 and has been my second daily. Not too many early 80's around.

love the patina, sounds like a great ruck with some years of ownership and maintenance. Better than buying one just brought into the states, should be minimal surprises ($$$).

Don't think so.

David, this is just a personal opinion/observation so I won't be offended if you tell me to mind my own business.

I think what you might consider is painting the wheels limestone and taking it to a nice outdoors location, maybe off GW Pway, for new pics. FYI, don't do it classic EUropean flipper style. Actually take the wheel off and paint them. A couple off the shelf spray cans should do it.

Actually... this is not my truck. Should have stated that. Just saw the updated ad on CL this morning and thought I could help give it a push. 32mgriffith is the OP. Maybe I should have minded my business.

I agree on the rims. Recently there was an Arles blue 110 (91 or 92 Tdi) on Craigslist with with Alpine white painted lugs. It just says "don't even look at me". I personally like the original County color scheme. Not sure red is to everyone taste, but I like it.

As Uncle Douglas would say... these early one are built a little better. Slightly thicker body panels, galvanized capping. Also, I've learned they have a little better clearance... don't know why though.

no had quite a few ones, red with slinding windows, but never a RHD.

Looks like a nice car and although I have had many, I only found one with sliding windows in the last year. Becoming very rare in Europe now.
