1983 Bmw R65

Others have posted their bikes here and this may be of interest to some members, so here goes.....

1983 R65 with 5,033 orginal miles. Classic black paint with red and white pinstripes in great condition. Metzlers, genuine BMW small sport fairing, genuine BMW tank bag and otherwise bone stock. Original manuals (rider, service, and accessories) and touch up paint included. Never down, the bike is in great physical condition but suffers from lack of rider. The left carb and final drive both have a leak. $3200.

You should post your email or phone # here, so that people looking from other links can contact you. Your original post doesn't have any contact info other than a PM to you, and those who are not members can't do that.

That's a nice bike, Cabell. If I hadn't just picked up another Multistrada, I'd think about it - it's a relatively cheap way to get onto 2 wheels on a bike that's easy to maintain. Damn, in fact, I'm kinda lusting after it... I wonder if i can talk the wife into a... umm... yeah, a bike for her! That's it, for her.

Fwiw. I was down @ Cabells place this weekend and we pulled the bike out of the barn and fired it up. I put about 20 miles on it on the back country roads of Central Va. Neat bike for someone.

I'm headed down in the next hour or so to help Cabell for the next couple of days. Know its late notice but I have a bike trailer and could bring it back to Annapolis on Thursday when I return. If that apeals to anyone send me an email quick.

FWIW it wasnt leaking after I rode it. It probably wont leak again if not left to sit for a year and half in between rides....

Most likely its just a seal. Seals are cheap. $25 to $50 or so. I forget the exact price. But its the labor that adds up. If you do it your self you could fix it in 4 hrs or so depending on your skill level. Could be $750 to $1250 at a dealer.
