1983 110 5 door RHD Portland Oregon

Offering my well maintained and genuine example of the first year Defender 110. It has been a labor of love getting it into the condition it is. Several items have been upgraded and replaced to make this the perfect adventure vehicle. Asking $28,500.

Exterior: Original paint. Body is in excellent shape for age. Doors are solid. Rust is minimal. Frame is solid and was taken care of very well in the UK. There are no rotten holes or falling apart pieces of the frame. It has some surface rust and is due for a scrape and recoat of rust preventative. Exterior lights have been upgraded to LED except for the fog light and original rear backing light. Rigid D2 reverse light installed and upgraded KC LED Headlights. Galvanized roof rack has been modified to accommodate the roof top tent. (Not Included).

Engine: 200tdi from a discovery. Unknown mileage. Within the last 4 months I have replaced the timing belt and all the associated seals. Water pump, belts and hoses. Injection pump has been rebuilt and the injectors were rebuilt. New Allisport large radiator and full width intercooler installed along with new aluminum frame and electric fan with cowl. All power steering lines replaced and installed canister air filter and Mantec snorkel. Valves adjusted and the pump and turbo have been tuned for increased performance. It runs really well. New clutch and resurfaced flywheel with heavy duty throw out bearing replaced last year. New motor mounts. 3inch straight exhaust. New starter wires and engine and chassis grounds.

Drivetrain: LT77 5 speed works great and shifts smooth and is not sloppy. Rebuilt LT30 1.4.

Suspension: Front end rebuilt. Replaced all front steering components. CV's just completed. Wheel bearings replaced. Brakes are in great shape. No funky vibrations or shakes. Brand new Old Man Emu HD shocks and springs. Gives it a great stance with about 2" of lift. Not harsh and provides good on road and off-road manners. New Terafirma corrected radius arms gives it great steering. Rebuilt steering box. Steering is tight and it drives really nice.

Interior: New Scheel-Mann seats with heat and lumbar. Heat not connected. Sound deadening matts. Cargo barrier, raised rear platform. Set up with 3 seats, but Have all seats that were taken out including the benches in the rear. Replaced Metal Raptor instrument cluster and metal frame. VDO gauges including GPS speedometer, EGT, and Boost. Dash does not have any cracks and the door cards are in great shape. Headliner is very decent for age and does not droop. Recent attic net installed and my wife made nets for the rear windows to keep the dog safe.

Tires and Wheels: Wolf 16" black steel wheels and BFG 255/85/16 KM2 tires. Lots of life left. 80% +.

Other: Dual Optima battery system with National Luna split charge system, 2m Icom Ham radio. Safari Equip 28 gallon fuel tank. New 15" leather Springalex steering wheel.

Drivability: It runs extremely well and will easily do 65-70. It pulls hills better now with the upgraded intercooler and radiator along with adjusted pump and boost. With the new shocks, springs and corrected radius arms, it drives really nice. If your looking at 5 door 110's, this one is very well sorted with lots of money spent to make it as reliable and comfortable as possible for family adventures.

Please contact me by telephone or text at 503-314-8981 for questions. Have more pictures I can send.

Thank you for looking.

Looks so good, Anthony.

I have seen this truck first hand, it is exactly as the photos depict it.

I was meaning to ask about your bumperettes. Also, how does the rear door/tire interact with the high-lift being mounted there?

GLWS!

Thank you. The bumperettes were there when purchased. Honestly they are for looks. Would need to be beefed up to stand on. The tire does touch slightly on the jack. Doesn't impede access.

GLWTS, that's a lot of fun truck. I hope that was a rewarding experience. There's a lot of thought and effort there.

Hey all,

I'm the guy that picked it up from Anthony over the weekend for the long drive back to Texas. First off, Anthony is an awesome guy and was super helpful in this process. I flew in Friday and headed out that evening after quick work of the papers and funds.

Picked up Friday night in Portland and hit the road shortly after.

Got stopped in Idaho by the state patrol. I was only doing 60 in a 75. Trooper said I had some rear lights out, but kept asking questions about the truck. I pointed out that the lights were all correct and working as intended. He let me off after a friendly conversation.

Just outside Laramie, WY and stopped for an amazing sunset.

Colorado and New Mexico were fairly uneventful, but I was greeted with a sign from the cloud when I crossed the Texas state line.

The truck ran really well the entire trip. Zero issues until I pulled into my driveway where one of the door strikers broke when I was showing it to my wife. :/ Sourcing my first parts for the truck today. I saw where Anthony was looking for the same pieces last year, so if anyone has any leads I'll continue to pursue those.

Great story, enjoy it! Where in SA are you? There's an event coming up with a SA rover group at marble falls in November. Would love to see it
