Arrow 1983 110 200 tdi

Gents,

This is a 1983 RHD 110 with a 200 TDI. It was owned by a local man that had to sell due to health reasons. He aquired it back in Sept. 2010. This is not your typical Britrover NAS Moviestar. It is more like your typical U.K. Import, which is exactly what it is.

It needed a clutch in order to drive, so we installed a new one. We have done nothing else to it besides give it a bath. I drove it 35 miles back to the warehouse on I-95 and it drives/shifts very well. No excess smoke and adequate power. It does seem to run a little hot, probably due to the broken fan shroud and electric fan...there are a bunch of extra parts that go along with it, including new headlight buckets. The p.o. was about to start doing a full resto. when illness sadly changed his plans.

The floors and door bottoms have the typical rust issues. The paint appears original and has a fair amount of patina. We can refer the buyer to our outstanding body shop that has a ton of Defender experience if he desires.

The best part is that it is an original 83 and it is ,and has been located right here in Florida. No vin swaps, no risky overseas dealings required. Comes with a clean Florida Title, of course.

$12,500.

Please call my cell if you have a lot of questions . Inspections/test drives most welcome.

Pics will not load, too big. Will get that sorted and post them soon.

I saw pictures of this when Ken acquired it. It has the same Stratos Blue color and white graduated stripes (County) as my old one. I have not seen this in person, but based this thing is priced fair from everything I have seen. I gauranty you won't be importing anything from the UK cheaper than that!

I'd also like to say that ever since I sold my '84 110 to Jay, everyone comments on how they miss that Stratos Blue w/ white stripes truck (especially my kids). It's like nobody seems to warm to my late-model-spec 110 as much as the old County edition one. Maybe it was the true 80s look, original paint or whatever, but Stratos Blue w/white County stripes is a nice look for sure. Hopefully the new owner keeps it that color.

GLWS Ken!

Thanks A.

Yes it is Stratos Blue. Can't seem to get the pics shrunk but here is a link to the CL Listing I just put up with a few pics.

Ken, left a message for you a bit ago to get some additional details on drivetrain, etc. Shoot me an email or give me a call (left on your VM) when you get a moment.

Thanks Ken.

Ok, so I decided to go ahead and get the fan shroud. Will install it and a stock fan, etc and we should be good on the hot running issue.

The vehicle is in the shop now so it is hard to get some good shots, but do have some shots of the weak areas, etc. that I can email.

We have not doen the work yet, but I am pretty dang sure it will take care of the issue. The electric fan was larger than the stock one, so the p.o. cut the shroud down to nothing, so the fan was not doing much.

Also, the doors bottoms are quite rusty. I have some front doors avail. that can be added to the deal.....

Wondering about the mileage, as well as rust on axel/frame? Thanks!

Shayne has the vehicle and is sorting the hot running issue. The engine is a disco 200Tdi and the Defender fan shroud will not fit properly on it. We have decided to install new dual electric fans. I have done this in the past and they work great. We have installed a new water pump as there was one sitting in the vehicle when purchased. The radiator is out being checked as well.

The headlights have been reinstalled too. Once Shayne has got the fans installled and determines that it is running cool, the vehicle will be ready to be shown/sold/driven. It will still need some work, but that will be saved for the next owner . We can't have all the fun.

FWIW i saw this when i was down there and it looks to be a solid truck, i didn't really give it much of a thorough look but even with the dust still on it it seemed to be in good shape and the original paint had a pretty cool look in my opinion.

Good luck with the sale Ken, I'm putting that 200tdi in my truck very soon.... decided to pay someone to do it, just too much stuff going on with the house and other business to give the swap a go myself....

Thanks for all the interest. A board member has put a deposit on the 110,so it is a pending sale at this point.
