1980 Stage One Safari SW Isuzu Turbodiesel RHD
$12,500 negotiable. Please follow-up via email: firstname.lastname@example.org
Very regretful sale. I planned on keeping this one for good. About as quick as a modern Defender, and it keeps up with other traffic pretty good around town. It is strange to sometimes pass other cars in a Series Land Rover. Runs and tracks straight and confident at all speeds. For me, it is the perfect blend of Series and modern Land Rovers. This truck gets A LOT of compliments, as I drive it on the week-ends. Currently has a roof rack/ladder mounted that does not convey with the sale.
Nicely done 4j-b1t 2.8L Isuzu Turbo Diesel conversion (have receipts from UK)
LT95 full time 4WD system
Brand new Goodyear Duratracs on new steel road wheels
New fuel tank and Summit Racing electric fuel pump
Late model Defender style doors w/roll up windows and front grill
Diamond plate wing and bonnet protectors
Beautiful limestone paint (though there are nicks/small dents here and there)
Nice, complete carpeted interior and Tuffy center console
Safari top roof vents work nicely (open and close)
LED brake lights recently installed
Includes some fuel and oil filters, engine block heater, new grill, and new sockets/lenses for all exterior lights
Bulkhead/chassis overall in pretty good shape (but itís best to assess in person)
Where it needs work/cons:
Vacuum switch for diff loc and cab gauges are inop.
Overall, it shifts nicely and clutch disengagement is smooth. When cold, it will pop out of 2nd gear occasionally on deceleration. Based on research, I was planning on changing the fluid to possibly address this. Stays in 2nd okay when warm.
Chassis has been worked on in the past, but it needs some work around right rear inner cross member.
