i went in one of these when new ... the door handles are shared with an austin allegro ... possibly the worst car ever made and the lotus esprit .. one of the nicest!

It was built in Speke. As they said back then, the quality was unspekeable.

Mandatory Rover content, the TR8 has a well known alloy V8 under the bonnet!

A friend of mine runs a land rover / range rover specialty repair shop. Based on his experience, they are capable of stopping anywhere, anytime, at any cost.

I don't know about the brakes, only their unreliability.
