1971 Series IIa 109

I am regrettably putting my 1971 Series IIa 109 2.25 petrol up for sale in order to fund my 110. The 109 has been my daily driver for the past five years minus a period of time when my 110 was fulfilling those duties. It carries me 40 miles a day to and from work. The 109 is not a show queen. It is driven daily, takes the family camping, supports household projects, and has always been treated as a rover should. Within the past 90 days I have had a Tim Cooper 4 wheel disc brake kit with genuine parts installed along with a new wiring harness. The trucks steers, drives, and brakes as it should. The Santana overdrive does leak along with a few other spots I truly have not taken the time to narrow down. I stay on top of all fluids with weekly checks. I am unsure on the actual mileage. The motor was refreshed in 2013 with machine work and parts following a blown head gasket. I have just installed a new badger coach works headliner in the tropical top. A worn soft top with hoops and tail gate will come with the rover. As far as seating the front has two great condition defender seats. The 109 will come with a jeep fold and tumble which I have used with car seats for two children and two 3 man bench seats. You can choose what you would like back there.

The 109 was featured in the fall 2012 Rovers Magazine when I drive it from Maine to North Carolina
https://www.roversnorth.com/files/Graphics/Rovers-Magazine/pdf/Rovers-Fall-2012-web.pdf

A thread covering its life changes can be seen on the guns and rovers forum
http://www.gunsandrovers.com/showthread.php?t=4976&

Within the past 90 days the 109 has been seen in person by Stephen at SafariHP. Jeff Aronson the wife and I sat in the back and chatted for an hour or so last weekend. Feel free to ask around regarding condition of the 109.

I have taken 1000 mile trips in this 109 and would drive this to California today as long as I had a supply of 90wt and a small tool kit. I say that understanding all 45 year old vehicles will at some point break down or surprise you. As stated below I have two new rear spring outriggers and a clutch slave cylinder enroute. The slave cylinder was acting wonky last weekend then it started to work fine. I plan on replacing it because its cheap and I should. I am looking at $15,500. Any question feel free to PM.

The Good:
Good Bulkhead
4 wheel disc brakes (Tim cooper kit) Less than 1500 miles on the system
New wiring harness
Rock mountain door tops
RM spin on oil filter
Defender front seats
Acoustic matting
Genuine work lamp
New badger coach works headliner
Acoustic matting
Free wheeling hubs
Santana overdrive
Smiths heater
USB / 12v charge panel
Anti-burst latches
Brown church roof rack
Tropical top
Soft top parts included + Tailgate
Body colored wing top protectors
Galvy rear cross member
2 x three person bench seats and Jeep fold and tumble come with the 109.

The bad:
Silver dollar size hole in the passenger side floorboard
Both rear spring outriggers have a rust hole. New ones have been purchased and awaiting arrival.
Paint is not the best (Keswick Green)
Some people might view the non-synchronized transmission as bad
It leaks

Thanks! Selling this is killing me as two of my kids have been through car seats in it and it has been a big part of their lives. I am having to weight bills, a 110, and a 109. I will post more pics once my work computer stops acting up.

I appreciate the comment. I am always weird about selling Rovers based off not knowing if I am depicting the condition clearly to others. I truly invite anyone to call if curious and I will cover down on all the truck's quirks. It's a small community and not looking to screw anyone over.

I sure hope trucks like this are still around for this price in a year or so. Pretty much exactly what I'm looking for, just need a house and a garage first. GLWS.

Upside Down

I apologize for some of the pictures being upside down. Not sure what is going on with that right now.
