Talking 1971 Ser IIa Custom Coil 88 with Tdi

For sale is my 1971 Ser IIa Custom Coil 88 Perkins Prima Tdi.. Unfortunately there is not enough room in my garage anymore.... 2 D-90's now.. Everything is new, galvanized and rebuilt from the ground up.. New Galv. Bulkhead, Galv. door frames, Frame, Brackets... Rebuilt Perkins Prima, rebuilt lt-77 5 speed with lt-230 t-case. ( not the t-case in the first few pix).. It has a complete D-90 drive tran.. All new body panels. Not a dent on the truck. Every bolt has been replaced.. Its a work of art.. ... Check out some of the build pix..
www.d-90.com/forum/showthread.php?t=8682

Truck also comes with a custom set of sliders and a stock front bumper that is not pictured. It has about 4k miles on it since the rebuild. Runs like a top. It gets about 38mpg. Please shoot me a PM with any questions.. Asking $17999 OBO

I saw this thing in person a month or so ago. Like Randy said it is really a work of art. Clean is an understatement. Under $18K for it seems like a steal.

If that chequerplate wasn't on the wings, it would be in my garage by now and I would be sleeping in the shed. Beautiful.

$hit if I wasn't in the middle of a D90 project I'd be on that thing. Super nice job!

Maybe 3 or 4 of us Matt Browne fans should buy it as a timeshare. We could rotate usage by weeks/months or something like that and do the transfers at his shop. Of course, we would make it worth his while. That way I could have fun driving it and still stay married.

I WANT THAT TRUCK. Someone buy my TDI D2..... I will also trade my left nut for it, hell I'll go both.

That is a nice clean job - if someone else gets to it before me good luck with the sale - that is a super nice truck.

Doug

EDIT: Couple questions for you, what is the top or cruising speed/how's it geared? Is it highway worthy more than a usual series truck? And is it reasonably quiet at speed? I am not real familiar with the Perky motors.

It cruises at 65 no problem.. It has a 1.2 t-case and stock 4.7 series gears... I would prob have no problem with 4.11's ... THe tdi is noisy in the series but runs like a champ. the brakes are the best.. 4 way disks all around

Nicely done and an absolute steal at that price. That wouldn't even cover the parts these days never mind the obvious love and creativity that Randy has poured on it.

Clay follow the link in his first post at the top of this page. You'll see everything you need to and make sure you have paper towels in your underwear...

Well - my wife said she doesn't like the windshield - too funny. Says it looks funny with the short divided screen.... can't win them all. I am still in love, and working on her.
