110 and 90 for sale by Canadian Govt.

Old and in pretty bad condition though said to be running and with low km's, maybe someone could use them for parts, here's a link to one, you may need to sign up and login to see them:

The 110 looks like it has lived a very hard life.

Normally they are. They have also been selling for too high of a price lately. Too many people dreaming they can make money.

That is ex-MOD that is, brought by the MOD to its BATUS artillery range in southern Alberta, which I believe adjoins the Suffield Canadian DND base. A number of these, all in similarly rough shape, have been sold off into civilian hands and some have been rebuilt/restored. But for sure , in Canada anyway, it would now make much more sense to import a late 300Tdi Defender instead direct from Europe.

Yes, from Batus, the largest British military training area in the world... They have sold thousands of Defenders off. They have even started selling off Wolfs. Some people prefer the ex-MOD trucks and you can get them cheaper than importing. Like I say, people are spending too much now but that has not always been the case.

Case in point. Found these two on Kijiji for sale in Orillia, Ontario. They got the BATUS 90 from GCSurplus for $5,376.23 and the 110 for $4,663.23. Asking $10,500 now for each.

Ninty

One Ten

Doesn't look like they did a whole lot to tidy them up any.

My truck is ex-BATUS...... It was rough. I wanted a defender in the worst way and that's what I got. Still love it though!

My 110 started life as a ex MOD a lot of work to get them in shape but it's at least LHD.

Wow. That guy in Barrie is trolling for a real sucker. Most uncool! Seems like the doors were rattle canned black and nothing more done. $2500 per can!

In my experience, back when gas was higher, not including wear and tear on tires, truck and trailer, costs about $2000 CDN to bring them back to Ontario.

110

I looked at 10 of these about 2 months ago bulkheads and chassis where not in bad shape everything else rough. Out of the 10 there may have been 4 usable tubs and yes lots of paint. Hard tops and wings all damaged most doors missing and some engine parts so not running but they come with canadian reg which is apparently good for states. Also some are left hand drive. Guy wants to sell all at one time but wants someone to make and offer. 1 1/2 hours north of north east NY boarder. Any interest i can get in touch with him but think price is going to be to high cannot hurt to throw him a price if any interest I would be in for a few on a group buy. Canadian reg????? Towing and boarder crossing???? $2000. each $$$

Interesting. My roof and rear door have some red paint showing under the flaking green paint. One roof side is obviously newer than the other, and my roof is a smooth roof. I wonder if it was repaired after an accident with parts from one of these ordnance disposal vehicles.

https://www.gcsurplus.ca/mn-eng.cfm?...=0&sc=ach-shop Search for "rover". Buying site unseen or without the ability to pickup is probably not a good idea.... They are usually pretty rough.

This is the only one of interest... But they have been selling high.... Not old enough for the States.

I envy your proximity to such a large supply of $10 Rovers, and the ability to own and drive a Wolf. Must be nice!

I bought one of these. An 84 2.5 NA LHD 90 with about 20,000 KM on it for about $4000 from that Canadian base (shipping a non running vehicle to Connecticut increased that starting price quite a bit though). The frame doesn't have much rust and after I had the battery changed, fluids flushed and a couple of small parts replaced she runs pretty well. It is a rough example but I think its as good a place as any for starting a project
