RD you should store that @ Uncle Douglas's farm. Might even turn the tables on how Fay feels about me. Maybe if I was the guy taking them away instead of bringing them.....

I mentioned this truck to my father-in-law... we're looking for a service truck for the dealership, so this would be perfect. He's into vehicles that are "correct" so I don't know if he's totally sold yet.

As I understand it this is correct and is exceedingly rare. Do a search on 100" defenders. I believe this is one that was made by Land Rover and not an after market hatchet job.

Just for "gee wiz factor" & curiosity, how or what frame, chassie years, would be needed to replace the bad one ?
Maybe a simple answer could spark intrest and help the sale
Shoot I could be intrested.

It's kind of a Series 3/Defender/Disco thing. It wouldn't be wrong to use parts from any of those.

Would this repair be beyond a novice
The chasses included or any would be LHD,I haven't read on either of the two chassies mentioned above and wonder about their rust issues.

Not sure what the term "Service Truck" means to you, but the next one going up will be an all original LHD 109 Series I station Wagon... pretty much rust free! It will go for $7 - 12K my guess.

They are are almost as scarce as rocking horse manure.

This was actually a 100" body someone got hold of and put onto a Range Rover frame...

Oh, no, don't get me wrong, not knocking the vehicle in any way... my father in law is just extremely nit-picky when something isn't completely factory original...

He wants a truck that he can paint up for our Land Rover dealership and use for just daily running around... park on our hill during the idle times for decor. It's a perfect truck imo, but he's very picky.

I'll mention the other truck if you already have some details about it.

Ok, thanks. For some reason I thought it was an original LR produced truck.

I thinking about jumping into this. How bad is the rust in the frame? Any shots of it? How much modification was done to the RRC frame? Im curious about the way its set up.

Pretty sure he aquired it like this. Rover built a few 100 inch bodies. This would be a really neat truck to save.

I knew LR did a couple 100" bodies, including a 4 door and have seen, on the web, a few home builds. Im just curious as to the frames situation and how the body attaches to it. Im guessing that he did like in that 4x4 video where mounts were cut and Defender specific outriggers were welded in. Im just not sure. Thats why Im hoping for some frame shots.

I think there's a reason we haven't seen any frame shots. He says outright in the auction that the frame is rusty and that it's a rebuild candidate. The frame almost certainly shot and I'm guessing that the custom mounting brackets are, too. You can pretty much plan on doing some custom fab to bring this old girl back to life.

I hope that someone experienced in custom fab gets this truck. Sure would love to see her running again.
