'02 4.6 HSE P38 - Another Great Vehicle for Board Members!

This is a Super Clean (possibly the cleanest around) 2002 Range Rover 4.6HSE. This thing has been Maintained Incredibly Well! It is Silver with Black Interior, Brush Guard, Lamp Guards, Roof Rack and Off Road Lights. All Accessories are Genuine Land Rover Accessories. Vehicle has 115k Miles on it, but looks like 20k! It has 4 Matching, Good Condition Michelin Synchrone 4x4 Tires and Brakes are in Good Shape (app 50%) all the way around!

The Bad: There is a Small Door Ding in the Driver Door Below the Handle, there is a Small Stone Chip in the Left Headlight (driver side) but it is not collecting water currently. Finally, and here is the kicker. It has a Mystery Battery Drain that our Technicians have not been able to locate. It is Intermittent and the Vehicle seems totally fine if it is driven every day; however, if it sits for several days, it may or may not need a jump. In other words, a Slow, Intermittent Drain.

Throughout the course of a couple previous Technicians attempting, the BECM has been replaced as well as a handful of other ECU's in an attempt to cure the problem. The Customer simply didn't want to keep throwing good money after bad replacing parts and traded it in. This would be a great DD for someone, or a good project for one of you to tinker with in your spare time to isolate the drain and have One Heck of a Range Rover for the Money!

Asking $7,200/obo

Not sure if this helps with the battery drain but we had the same issue with our p38. The problem was due to the local radio tower. The alarm would sense a frequency similar to the unlocking of the alarm or something to that effect so the system would constantly cycle and drain the battery. If we didnt lock the doors it was fine. Just a thought if you haven't looked into cell/radio towers.

Did you look into the EAS causing the mystery drain?

Thanks for the input guys. I don't know everything that has been tried, but I know they have Disconnected the Central Locking ECU and Door Slaves to no avail.

I am sure someone electrically inclined, with a Rover Mind and some time could find it. I'm tempted to buy it myself because it is so clean and a One Owner, but I just don't have the time. I barely find time to get anything done on my 110...Priorities.

Last chance, any offers? It's going off to the auction tomorrow otherwise.
