Yank in the UK
Since I have been lurking here for a while soaking up all the Defender knowledge, I figured that I would introduce myself. My name is Eric and I am a retired Marine. I work for the DoD on one of the American bases here. I live about 25 miles from Cambridge and about 65-70 miles from London. I am the proud owner of 2 110's. They gray one is called Monty and he is my first. When I bought him, he needed some welding done for the MOT. I got new passenger floorboards welded in and one of the rear tub supports. After some new plugs and wires, he is running great. I have some better front doors in my garage, just waiting for a decent day to put them on. The drivers side has the old series style sliding window, so that had to go. My other one is in the garage getting some brakes work and other things needed for an MOT. I will have to replace all the doors on that before I ship it back as it has the new style galvanized doors with push buttons. Since he was born before 1988, I will have to get some lift up doors at least until I get it through Customs. Both of my 110's are the 3.5 V8 models as finding Land Rovers of that age that have not been modified is challenging to say the least.
I appreciate all the wisdom that I have learned from this board and when I ship my Landys back to the states this year, hopefully it goes smoothly.
