Hi 110 v Santana

Looking for info on similarityu/difference between Santana 109/110 and Defender 110 parts. Body in particular. 1988 vintage

I am in Spain..Santana's can be sourced and shipped. Or just parts.

Cheers all

Santana leaf sprung, Rover coil sprung, so the entire suspension is different. Let's see what else. Hmmm. Different engine, transmission, transfer case. Different (steel) body. Different interior. General shape and size...check!
So much like those designer handbags they sell on the streets...similar but not the same!

Do you have any parts sources? I get calls frequently for them and would love to be able to tell people where to go for parts.

We at Rovers North have decided to not supply parts for Santanas unless the customer provides a Land Rover part number, and if it doesn't fit; it is on the customer to return(unless special order)

I am aware of many of the differences and yes I do have sorces for equivalent parts and some specific Santana parts.

I am looking now for info on body parts - panels , doors etc.

I am told by my contacts that "if it looks like a land rover the body parts will be the same. yaer on year"

Not sure I belive THAT! :-)

So..88 110 Defender..88 or therabouts Santana 110 ? doors fit?

Feel free to email todo@faxcess.com for further private help on parts sourcing.

Cheers,

John

The roofs are different: Santana roofs have the "alpine windows" centered over the 2nd row door windows and/or the rear side windows whereas the D roof alpine window placement seems to have some other rationale. Also, the "curve" along the side of the Santana roof is actually more of a slope compared to the curve on a REAL Defender...

I have no idea whether the roofs are interchangeable, but I have my doubts. Thanks for this thread why cuz my mechanic once told me that Santana & D parts aren't necessarily interchangeable & I can now see that other legit shops have come to the same conclusion.
