Hello, Newbie From Massachusetts

Hi there,

Complete newbie here. I was looking for a ROW 110 for a beach cruiser, but my wife really liked the 109 Santana that ValenciaCV had listed on this site. (so of course I got it!) (Here is a link to their website, I don't know how to link to a thread on here yet. 1971 Land Rover Santana 109 2-door €” Valencia Classic Vehicle Consulting

Hopefully this truck will be out on Nantucket for the summer where we have a small cottage.

Mark

Welcome - best of luck with the 109.

I'll look out for you on island.

BTW - look into some rust protection, waxoyl, etc. Do some searches as there is a lot of good info on the subject

Thanks, the 109 has an appointment with a local Land Rover Specialist next week, and rust delaying treatment was one item I had on my discussion list.

Hope to see you on island this summer!

Good luck with your 110! I work over on Donald Lynch Blvd, so I end up driving through Hudson once in a while. I hope to see you on the road!

My 109 is not for daily driving and I think would be a hazard on 495 in rush hour...

Er, it's not a Land Rover, it's a Santana. You will be finding out exactly what that means over the course of your ownership. Good luck, mate!

No way, Doug! That's where my 110 and RRC live ... on the shores of Lake Boon. Small, small world.

Santana suggestions?

Anyone with suggestions of websites, clubs, vendors that I should get to know that are more focused on Santana's?

Thanks,

Mark

Not many Santana in US. If you read/write spanish or spanglish you should find some forums to support owning one in ROW. I bump into them occasionally in Costa Rica, Body seems to be biggest difference, but I've never owned one. Depending on year some say 85% comparable others say only 50% comparable with BL engineered trucks. You would certainly be the only kid on ACK with one, for better or worse...
