Hello from Santa Barbara

I'm a new member with an interest in purchasing my first Defender 90. I was wondering what the best way is to get feedback on trucks as I proceed with my search. Apologies if this is already written up - I couldn't find a protocol.

Welcome and def read through that link Brian provided.
And assume you live in California and plans to register the truck in California, the TL;DR is to buy a NAS (North America Spec) truck. That's the most painless way to own and register a defender in California.
And give up dreams of a diesel Defender in this state.

There are alternate ways to own an imported truck, but you should be ready to make lifestyle changes to accommodate. Good luck!

Thanks! Just reading up on the rules. It sounds like there are some exemptions, but as you say it would require some major lifestyle changes. Time to looks at NAS trucks...

Thanks.
