Hello from Germany

Currently in the research phase of getting a Defender 90 and importing it to the USA. I recently found an interest in Defenders so I am new at it all. Looks like lots of useful info here on the forum! Hopefully will be bringing one home soon.

First off, thank you for your service to our country, second, you need to have your head examined to find out early why you want to spend good money for a vehicle that will require more money and time to keep it on the road. Lol,
Third, read every thread on this forum about importing Defenders. Must be over 25 years old, original engine just for starters. You should get help or at least advise from someone that knows what they're doing. There are people on this forum that import for a living and know how to avoid the problems of importing, I would a send message to Uncle Douglas. He is well known on this board for all things Defender.
Good luck, and welcome,

Thanks!

Thanks guys for the warm welcome. Good to hear there are a few of us in Germany! One of the guys I work with is also on this forum and I got some advise from him and have been looking around the forums for a little bit. It is always good to have a second opinion so maybe one of yall can take a look for me. Found this one in Italy. Being sold by a Land Rover dealer. Engine is original as well as the transmission and chassis. 19J engine so I am hoping it is a later version, cant tell till I get the serial number. I think it is a great price and in pretty good shape. Biggest hurdle I have at this point is renting a car trailer to get it back to Germany as from what they tell me, they don't have export plates in Italy. Not a huge problem but just annoying really.

Here is the link and I have also attached some pictures.

You can get temp plates from vehicle reg and take them with you. Once you get back you can get it inspected and get the permanent plates.
