Greetings from Upstate New York

Hello everyone,
I've been wanting a Defender 110 for 20+ years and am finally in a position to make it possible. My first car was back in 1983 and was an IH Scout, so maybe a "solid machine" is just in my blood. After years of wagons & other cars I think its time to get serious about a Defender. My wife got so tired of me joking that our Jeep Wrangler 4-door was mediocre she went out and got me a 1970s Land Rover Matchbox car. It sits front & center on my desk.
But after two weeks in South Africa and countless hours in a Defender she finally understands.
Its going to be a process to find the right one. They also seem a bit harder to find here in the Northeast.
I look forward to learning from all of you!
All the best,
Seth

How would you describe your mechanic skills?
