Greetings from Switzerland

Hi Rover lovers,

I'm Ed from Beromünster Switzerland. I am a long-time rover fan and currently have a 1971 Series 2A 109 6 cyl 5-door and a Discovery 3.

Anybody in my part of the world?

This is my S2A

Stuttgart, not super close, but it is your part of the world.

Are there any good ways to find old Rovers in CH other than mobile.de and autoscout24?

Thanks Dale, you will be surprised to hear that it only has 12,000 original kilometers. It was in service with a local fire department for 44 years and I have the log book of every time it left the firehouse.

I feel very lucky to have found it.

Here is a picture of it when it was on duty.

Not that surprised- I used to watch the small fire Dept practice when we traveled over your way back in the 80's. Of course then, they had equipment from the 60's ;-)
But still- less than 7500 miles!! Amazing!!
Thanks for the pics as well.

Thanks and by the way Dale, you don't happen to have a 2nd row seat frame do you? Mine was removed a long time ago in order to store hoses.

Anybody in my part of the world?

Sort of - at least in CH.

We live in Sennwald, Kanton SG close to Schaan, FL.

If you get this way, let me know.

And nice Series.

Edward, I do have a 109 parts truck, and it does still have second row seats in it. For shipping purposes, I assume you would want just the frames? Besides, the seats are orig and not salvageable.
PM me to discuss further.
Cheers

Thanks and if you ever find yourself 20 minutes north of Luzern, stop by for a beer! We can swap rover stories. My first rover was a white 1987 Range Rover. By the way, how is the off-roading in your area?

Here is a few pictures of our Swiss 110.
We have a 1961 109 with a Rosenbauer pump.
I see a hose reel on yours, where is the pump?
Our pump is in the very front of the vehicle and runs of the engine crankshaft.

Am also sending you a PM to see if you can help us get a RV Wallas stove/heater for our Dormobile.

Very nice Richard! All of the fire stuff was removed from my truck so that it could be registered as a normal vehicle. As far as I know, it only carried the hoses for the big trucks.

We have been doing a little polishing and have stripped the red paint off of the galvanized parts. She is scrubbing up nicely.

Now, if I can just find a set of 2nd row seats!

"By the way, how is the off-roading in your area?"

Non-existant. Even the dirt roads are closed except for those with a "special" permission.

We travel to Italy / France to feed our off-road habit.

Paint is turning out nicely!

I figured as much. Keep us in mind next time you head out.
