D110 coming to Philadelphia

Hey DSource

Hesitant to introduce myself until the truck actually clears customs, but what the heck. My name is Dustin. I live in the Philadelphia area and really can't wait to take delivery of my truck and truly join the community.

I've wanted a Defender since I was a kid and my wife told me that it was time to finally make it happen. Not sure if it is because she is very cool or if she was sick of looking at pictures of different Defenders every night after dinner. Although she loves the look of a nice 5 door wagon, the cost and intended use of "our" first Defender lead us straight to the Tithonus. Anyway, I am (not so) patiently waiting on my Tithonus to come to the US. It boards a ship this week.

Thank you! I have emailed and/or spoken with a many of you over the last few months. I am very appreciative of your time and advice along with the wealth of knowledge and experience within the pages here at defendersource.com. I especially wanted to thank Stefan, Abe, Pablo, Michael/Frank, Ken and anyone else who I was in contact with. Hope to be able to repay the favor in the future.

I'll be sure to keep up with the forum and let you know how the wife and dog (named Diesel Bonecrusher) like the Defender. Hopefully it is smooth sailing from here.

Cheers,
Dustin

Yes it is! It's at the dock and waiting for a ride to Newark. Wonder how long it will take to clear customs once it lands.

Good news everyone, I picked up the 110 today at the port in Newark. It landed last Thursday and was released the next day. Kinda caught me a little off guard but I'll take it.

With a quick jump of the battery I was on my way. It was a cold day for my first Rover trip, but I can honestly say that I enjoy driving on the right side (so far). Red lights have become very interesting. People give the weirdest looks.

I will be cleaning it up this weekend. More photos and build plans to come.

Thanks guys. Are there many of us near Philly?

Good luck to the owners of the other Defenders at the port. There were 4-5 of them that I could see. I was drooling all over the dark gray 110. Here are a few quick pictures I snapped.
