Congrats

Congrats and welcome. I'm assuming your military and stationed in Naples?

Yes, AD Navy. Been here for about a year. I am in need of a good mechanic who is familiar with Rovers down here.

Ciao! Just left Naples with my 1989 3 door 110. Still have a few friends driving Defenders in the Gricignano area. Probably could scrounge up some mechanic's info as well. Shoot me a PM if you have any questions or need help exporting, I just finalized the registration in Wa and got my title in hand!

Christopher,

Just left there in April, you are in luck as I happen to know of the right guy. Had them work on my 110 before I transferred state side.

Check out Quick Service

Via Alessandro Volta, 6, Quarto, Naples, Italy 80010. As for what they do, if Riccardo can't fix it he probably knows someone that can. info@quick-service.it (081) 806-3398

There English isn't great . . . but they do know how to use google translate

It is located on the North side of Carney Park, across the street from the Philly Cheese Steak place down a smallish street.

There is also a group on FB - Naples Area Land Rover Series and Defender Owners you should check it out, Matt Loverink, works at SIXTH Fleet, has a red 91 110, he is very knowledgeable and knows Riccardo

Or just talk to the guys on FB

He installed a new motor in my truck as mine grenade, also has rebuilt a few engines for guys recently.

Very trust worthy . . . and fair prices.

------ Follow up post added March 3rd, 2016 05:02 PM ------

Oh yeah, welcome . . . AD Navy here also

Ciao

Mike

Thanks Mike, that helps out a lot. I work with NATO and we use Rovers so somethings I should be able to have our mechanics look at but not everything. Since you have gone through the process of moving back to the states I would like to ask how was that? I would like to do some restoration work here but I don't want to get hung up at customs.

Thanks,

Chris

There is a ton of info on the forum. Basics are engine, transmission, axles, frame should be what it was built. Doesn't have to be the original, but can't upgrade to 200 or 300tdi, mine was a 2.5td so put another 2.5td back in. As far as upgrading other stuff, I put seats out of a 2014 puma, double din stereo, amp, no issues. Things that would need replacing after 25 years.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Mike
