'88 D90 in Fort Worth Headed to Salida CO

I have posted a few times in the forum, but I just got my new truck back home (and promptly to the local shop, North Texas British, for a baseline).

Anyway, it's an 88 200tdi that has some decent bolt on parts, but will need some TLC on some items. The report from the shop is that all looks decent except for a small exhaust leak, some older looking coolant and some rust. Basically the prognosis is that I should change the fluids and drive it until I figure out what I want to do with it - sort of the..if it aint broke dont fix it idea. I tend to be a little over eager when it comes to taking things apart and putting them back together so we'll see haha.

The truck is currently in Ft Worth Texas and will be headed up to Salida CO in about a month to start work on a motel renovation there.

By the way, what are some recommended shops in Colorado? Perhaps near Colorado Springs, Denver or on the Western Slope (GJ, Montrose, etc)?

For now, here are some pictures as it sits:

Nice truck. Your best bet in COS is Pikes Peak Rovers. I think they may be called "Land Rover Specialists" or something now. Eric is the owner and a great guy.

Congrats, nice looking rig!

I do my own work in my garage. These things are pretty simple if you have the time to mess with them. Always good to have a backup vehicle though just in case you don't.

Yeah, I will be pulling a few things apart. They seem simple enough with room to see/service most things.

Think my first service will be coolant change (maybe take the radiator out and check/clean it. Then Fuel filter and oil service.

Brake rotors need to be refreshed so Im debating how much of the hub assembly I want to rebuild. Swivels look clean and holding well so I think maybe I'll redo the rotors/seals and check the bearings.

I left the Springs last year and Eric Holder closed Pikes Peak 4X4 in late 2013. I believe his partner, Chris Rubin went to Sleek Motoring: https://www.facebook.com/sleekmotori.../?tab=overview
