1986 Defender 90 Grand Rapids, MI - Hello

My first question: where is the dash glow plug signal on my dash? I've seen the curly q symbol on other Defenders, but my dash legend doesn't seem to show it.

In the last 7 years only saw one other Defender in the Grand Rapids Area. Yours is new here. Welcome.

I live in Rockford, stop by and I will show you the light in one of my diesel Defenders.

In earlier trucks, they use the "choke" symbol. Diagonal line with dot in the center.

You probably have this cluster?

Lower right below the diff lock symbol.

i wonder if the other Defender you saw was my neighbor's? He had a NAS green 90. He no longer has it. Thanks for the symbology lesson. Yes, I have the older dash and now I know.

People either love the stripe or hate it. I'm keeping it.

Thanks Johan. Kraig Mackett said I should get over to see you someday. Maybe this summer.

Thanks, it is mine. I went back to the stock wheels but essentially that is how it sits today.

I wish I could say I am in the area, but not really, I am two hours away (Novi) and I also have a D90...maybe one day we could meet would be nice to exchange information, (At the moment I am going crazy, I need to release the steering wheel as the turn signal mechanism was destroyed by my niece, I got new parts, but I can't release the wheel to replace the switches! Any suggestions or ideas? I have been hammering the wheel like crazy and it doesn't move at all)
Am I supposed to release something hidden? or just with the hammer? Help would be really appreciated! I have an 87 D90 Diesel thanks!!!

Thanks for the glow plug lesson. Time to start yesterday in 12-degress - 2 seconds. before it took 12 seconds and almost drained the battery.
