History I just purchased this Defender from a guy up in Virginia. He did all of the cage work and upgrades from its original condition. I'm planning to add SW doors and maybe add a full size canvas top in the future. Also want to insulate the inside somehow to minimize a lot of the road noise. It's very loud riding this thing down the highway.

Did you just buy this or are you the one who's had it for sale on CL for like 6 months? Either way...congrats.

yeah yeah yeah I saw that. I say I "just purchased" something even like a year down the road. I was curious, because they're all higher res versions of the photos from the ads.

Hi, I just bought it... I never saw it on CL, but I did find it on Ebay. So far it's a great D90... it has a few things that need to be fixed, but it made the trek from Roanoke, Va. to Greenville, SC with no issues. I'd really like to get a hard top for it, or maybe a half cab.

There's just a handful of Defenders in this area, so it gets looks like it's an exotic sports car. I'm ready to get her off road!

Thanks for the forum guys!

Nice 90 but I dont understand why someone would do that to the door with the "custom" speaker box?!?

Welcome to the forum. Just curious; why are you considering SW doors? (You'll lose elbow room that you have with the ST doors.)

Well, after getting a price on the SW doors, I think I'll put that money into something more worthwhile. Starting with a new door latch on my driver's door... I took a right turn this morning, and my door decided to swing open... the latch won't stay closed now.

I'm not too familiar with aftermarket products as far as speaker enclosures, but he actually did a good job of constructing them and attaching them to the door. The way he riveted them and constructed them from aluminum material, makes them look like they came that way from the factory. I've seen a lot worse from my days off roading in my '72 K5...

Yep, all stock photos from the PO for the moment... I'm a sales guide for Land Rover Greenville, so I'll snap a few pics of it on our test track this weekend. Icy weather today and of course I'm working from sun up to sun down every day trying to sell Rovers, which kills my free time.

Common problem...you most likley dont need to replace just adjust and that can be a PIA couse most tend to over think the adjustment (yeah that includes me but dont tell).

I just removed the latch and it looks like the spring loaded bars inside the assembly are all gunked up... Going to spray it with degreaser and cross fingers that'll clean it up.

I've realized that there is a board member by the name of "Kermit", so I'm going to rethink my name choices for my 90...

Forgot about this... "Osiris" was green skinned, so that's his new official name...

Trust me, the SW doors are worth the investment. Forget the noise reduction, the ability to roll up the window when you park it vs tempting anyone to reach in a grab whatever they want when the door tops are off, no window flapping noise when the tops are on or a much better seal all the way around... these will actually allow you to go thru a drive thru and be able to pull your bag of food into the vehicle!
