?Windshield (Windscreen) Replacement?

I have to replace my NAS 1997 windshield. The LR dealership has let me know that they are going to replace it with an OEM in either green or clear. The car I believe comes with clear. I know that the green obviously has UV tint within it. I am not sure what direction I should go. Green or clear?

Also, they are stating that the can not source an exterior windshield perimeter weather strip, do you have any suggestions?

Thank you for your help.

Kind Regards
-Mike

I've seen those at the LR parts vendors advertising here. Rovahfarm, British Atlantic and rover north.
Kinda odd the dealer can't source the part. :-/

BrightGlass made my last wind shield. Just about any glass shop can make them.

As for the rubber, they just quit making D's Hard to believe the gasket isn't available, I'd ask Rovers North or Trevor @ RovahFarm.

Stay away from the dealer !!!

Thank you for the info.

Should I go with the Green tinted windshield (which I have been told is the standard for all glass today) or the original clear glass that is present on the vehicle?

Also, a buddy of my said I should keep the original interior seal on it for fear of leaks. That does not make since to me, does anyone have any opinion on this?

New seals are available. I would go with clear. It is a royal pain to do as the seals all suck. Have a great glass guy and make sure he stretches and conditions the seal before install.

Is it possible to use the original seal and or should I use the original seal?

At present I am going to go through the LR dealer here in Scottsdale AZ. Is this a good plan and if not who should I go through?

Thank you
-Mike

Just about any windshield co. will do, one in Prescott Valley quoted me $180 to make and install it. Even though they call it "green" it's clear. I think everyone here is referring to shaded glass which has about a 4" "greenish" shading across the top of the glass. Mine is a '97 a he felt my rubber was in good enough shape to reuse. He's do the whole job in 2 hours.
