Winch Rope Recommendation (for XD9000i)???

I need to get a Replacement winch rope for a Warn XD9000i. Obviously, synthetic is the way to go. What should I get (specifically) and where should I get it?

Thanks.

Viking offroad. They were a sponsor of mine for KOH. Great guys, fantastic product. I would really appreciate if you consider them.

Made it further than half of the other guys, but the Hammers won.

I also have to agree on going with Viking.... I looked at a few of the offerings, all in the same price range ... the guys at Viking were great to deal with and I was happy with the service and the product.

Just my 2cents

I bought a Master Pull line line for my ST, I got it off ebay a few years ago for $199. I've been very happy with it.

I have a 3/8" Viking on the 110.

The two Disco's have Amsteel 3/8"

All have performed well.

So 3/8" is the width to get - what about lenght? 80', 100'? Those Vikings look nice - need to swap out the snotty wire line on my Warn soon.

I think 80' is the longest you can go with the 3/8" in order for it to all fit on the spool.

I went with the dark gray color rope, looks pretty sharp.

Mostly depends on where you wheel and how you set up the winch. Bozman is right that the 80 is about as much as you can fit on the winch if it is a close mount. I run 80. I think the best setup you could do is have 50 feet on the winch and another 30-50 feet stored away with double eye ends (winchline will tie you anything you want). That way you can spool to one side of the drum longer, and get to the stronger part of the winch. But have the excess line for longer pulls.

I usually wheel with other vehicles so I don't need the 80 feet I have. I should have gone shorter.

edit: And just so you guys know, Viking met me on the Lakebed at KOH to get the replacement line to me for the rear suckdown winch that just snapped. Stand up guys!

I did not realize that stuff was so much more expensive now. I have 150ft of new masterpul 5/16th I can let limeport have for my cost ($250) v. the $350 it would cost now.
