Steve, are you going soon. If so let us know how the fishing is.

Here's my advice: Whatever amount of time you've allocated, double it. That takes the pressure off having to be somewhere at an appointed time, except for the wedding. Which means you probably need to take a week or so off in advance of the wedding to make sure you get there in time. Bottom line here is that the truck will be fine if you don't stress it too much, and you will do much better if you are relaxed. I took a leisurely trip from LA to OKC last year through the California desert and had to make myself slow down-even picked the most obscure roads and goat paths, to enjoy the scenery. It was very pleasureable, the truck made it fine, and when I got home I was in pretty good spirits. Hope you have the same experience.

Dunno which route you are taking or the dates. However, you might very well be heading through Idaho. If so you should probably plan on a couple of days of fly fishing in this wonderful state. Divert off of I-84 and head towards Sun Valley. You can Mtn. Bike to your hearts content and fish the Big Wood and Silver Creek (Hemmingways favorites when he was living in this area). Ping me with the dates and I will let you know what is hatching at that time. The camping is spectacular and the summer concert season frequently features Willie Nelson and a small crowd!

From that location you are 2.25 hours to Boise and then 7 - 8 hour to Seattle.

Enjoy.

Idaho is awesome! I've fished the Salmon River near Stanley and more recently the Lochsa River up north (not too far off of I-90). Both real good.

Well, in that case, you should hit the St. Joe.
