White D110 (#8) @ Mt Whitney

I was wondering if any of you might know of a white D110 that was at Mt Whitney in Sep '06. I saw it briefly when I was coming off the mountain but when I went back it was gone. I had some questions for the owner about lift, tires, etc. It was a great looking truck.

I just purchased #8 a few weeks ago. It is all stock. Are you sure it was #8?

I don't think it was number 8 as in imports but it had a huge white number 8 in the window, I guess I should've been more specific now that I thikn about it. Congratulations on your 110!!

That was Doug Walkers D110. He and I and another Rover enthusiast did the East Buttress of Whitney. It was truely an epic trip. We climbed througout the night and topped out at 3am. It was agreat trip. Here are a few pictures from the trip.

That is a great route. If you liked that, the Fishhook Arete on Mt. Russell is also great--Epic trips make this world bearable...

I was just talking with Doug about planning another "epic". Russel may be just the thing. Bear Creek Spire is another I have had my eye on.

It was friggin cold. I would venture to say it was easily in the teens on the face that night. We warmed up in the hut for a few hours before heading down. The smoke from the Ventura County brush fire was crazy thick the next day while coming down. Did you get into all that smoke too?

Doug is here on D90 under the name "Doug" you can PM him if you look him up under the member area. He has a great set up, one that I envy. I wish my truck handled as well as his.

Hi Keith,

Ask away! Chammy has a 3" lift now, hardly a noticable change to look at her, but handling and clearance improved with the extra heavy duty springs up front. OME 766 front and 754 rear. Also running a Scorpion HD sway bar with quick disconnects -- together with the EHD springs the truck is really tight on the highway...

Thanks for posting those pics of Whitney Kev -- haven't seen them in a while! ;P
