Which doors fit will fit my '85 Ninety?

All:

I need to replace the front (driver & passenger) and rear (with wiper) doors on my '85 Ninety. I see ads for NTO doors quite a lot, but before I drop $$$ I want to be sure they will fit. I know LR changed the shape of the rear door at some point, when was that? My current front doors have lift up handles, wind up windows and a galvanized trim piece on the outside. What other years of front & rear doors will fit my Ninety? I would like to go with aluminuim over galvanized frames if possible.

(I searched but couldn't find a definitive answer).

TIA.

Paul.

any doors from a series 2 on up through puma will fit your truck.

The all steel doors are a considerable upgrade over the alum skin doors

Just so there is no confusion. All the frames are steel. There are no aluminum frames. Later trucks used a galvanized steel skin instead of aluminum, which is a very good things as it stops the galvanic corrosion issue. There are also aftermarket doors with galvanized frames and aluminum or galvanized skins.

When I galvanize a door frame I put a steel skin on that frame. Ally skins suck.

Doug:

Okay, so Puma doors won't fit? What year was that?

Any idea on the rear (cargo) doors? Mine is in very sad shape...

Thanks,

Paul.

He is saying puma will fit.

Rear doors all fit as well including series. Later ones are stronger as they have pressed instead of fabricated frames. And then galv frames ones started to get built.

I've tried telling Paul that a few times now.

Paul, what Doug said.

If you like the lift up one piece doors, which are rare you can get replacement skins for them from SP 4x4 in the UK. http://www.sp-4x4.com/category_s/108.htm

Otherwise get the push button type of door. Bolt on and go, though I suspect you may have to change the striker. The the three styles , S3, yours and push button are interchangeable.
