Where to purchase door repair channel?

I have seen repair sections for the lower steel portion of the front doors sold in the UK but have been unable to find them state side.

Does anyone in the US carry repair channels for the door bottoms?

Follow-up Post:

Not sure how I managed to post this in the wanted section... Jim or Chris can you please move this to the proper section.

Julian,

Not sure if you have already departed to drop the 90 off at the docks but if not can you put enough in to do 2 front doors and 1 rear (if you have that much on hand if not do not delay the shipment and just send what you have).

Thanks for noticing my post and saving me the shipping

Door channels

Order then from the Uk. The exchange rate ie 1.38. It will be cheaper than buying here.

x2. I've placed several orders with them. Excellent service.

Another UK vendor I've had a great experience with is Wright Offroad.

Hey Eric,
So, you guys have these things...are all these parts the same for each door of a 4 door? or series vs. defender? YRM shows different part numbers for different model doors and you guys show one (that I could find)... and, I'm not sure how they work...do you have to strip the aluminum skin off the door to get to the door frame to install? is it evident how they fit in the doors? haven't begun the project but know I have to do it and am wondering what's involved.

We sell one style for all doors and they need to be welded in.

Ok, I am redoing a liftgate (dented channel, not rusty ironically enough). I need to see if it is >1m across the bottom. If not, I will order one from you Eric.

You unfold the aluminium skin from the channel, going much higher than you need to to get enough space to weld, then gently bend it back, cut out the rusty bits, weld in the new stuff, paint the backside of the channel and the base alumium behind it to prevent corrosion. Let it dry. I put some silicone between the two surfaces and then put the skin back on. Clean up the excess silicone, hammer the skin back on around the edges and then repaint as necessary.
