Where to buy 2.5 NA diesel weld in motor mounts?

Hello,

Pondering buying a NAS 90 V8 frame and welding in motor mounts for my 2.5 NA Diesel and having it galvanized (will be swapping in a 200TDI someday if that makes a diffrence)

Anyone know where I can buy the motor mounts? I want to build a rolling chassis while driving mine so cutting mine off would not be an option.

Or if anyone has a line on a nice frame that will work PM me

I did and he said no soup for me

Sending emails to Marsland, Richards and Designa to see if they will sell just a set of mounts.

They are very simple. If you have the ability to weld, chances are you can make them.

I ordered the 200tdi ones (same part) from Rovers north for about $20 ea last summer. Cheap enough that it didn't make sense to try and make them.

Can't argue with that!

Steel, welding gas, and wheels will cost that.

Richards and Marsland chassis will sell the individual mounts, as I bought Td5 mounts off of them a couple of years back (Richards)

If you can't source them stateside, and Richards/Marsland won't send to the US, you can always get them sent to me in the UK and i'll move them on.

They're the same as the old 2.25 as well, so you could always rob off of an old series chassis.

Marsland said they do not sell them, but I have found a few post where people said they purchased them from Marsland so maybe they just do not want to deal with shipping to the US or something.

"HI DAVE,
WE BUY OUR CHASSIS READY MADE UP FROM THE FACTORY, YOU COULD TRY
RICHARDS CHASSIS AS THEY MAKE THEIR OWN.

BEST REGARDS,

SHARON"

Still waiting on a reply from Richards, will also try Rovers North.

I just wish I could get a new galvanized chassis here in Colorado for a decent price rather than having to cut the mounts off a NAS, weld and then galvanize one

Dave,
I just called Rovers North and was pleased with how cheap they were. They place an order every Monday for special order items and if available in the Uk (they can tell you ahead of time) the parts are in on Friday. The parts manual on the LHP26 disc doesn't show the mount brackets seperately so thats no help. Your truck was very clean...whats the matter with that chassis ?

nothing really wrong, most of the chassis still has factory black paint under the massive amount of waxoil. It needs a new round tube that holds on the tank but that is cheap and easy to replace.

in the long run I want to have the chassis galvanized and figured that I would build a roller over the next year or two while driving the 90 as is and then swap the body and running gear over to the new setup... Was thinking about doing the same with the bulkhead mine looks great but I would like to have it galvanized so I might buy one have it galvanized to cut down on the swap time.

I am a bit OCD about stuff I guess. it drives my wife nuts

You might take a look. I have not done this. But you may be able to cut off the V8 mounts and reweld them in the correct location. I cut off the v8 mounts and reuse them all the time for v8 projects. But I have so far always used scrap 2.5na mounts when I need them. Which is not that often.

Good luck. You should just fab it like Buck said if it is not a pressing issue. And you have the truck there to model off of. Quit being lazy.

Guilty as charged

In my defense I been a wee bit busy for the last few months and thought it would be nice to take the easy way out for once and buy them rather than making them

What I did on my new Richards was have them make the mounts bolt-on with both the 200 and 300 positions ready in case I need to change over in the future (say an IS2.8), might be an option since they did mine a few weeks ago, just call and ask for Alistair.
