Wheels Spinning Opposite Directions...

This can't be normal...can it?

Here's the set-up:

The front of the truck is on jackstands.
I finished the front rotors.
I put both tires back on.

Before I put the jack under it to remove the jack stands, I spun the passenger side wheel. and watched the wheel spin effortlessly. Then I noticed across the truck, the driver's side wheel also spinning.

Then I realized, that as the passenger side wheel was spinning forward, the driver side wheel was spinning backwards! and vice versa.

This is a true WTF moment for me. Can anyone tell me how I'm managed to screw this up so badly just changing rotors??

Thanks, as always....

Jerod

Sorry, my 4x4 friend assures me that this is normal. Differential.

Tom - I actually watched that video earlier, it sounds like a WWII era propaganda film. It made it simple for the non-mechanical person like me. Still seemed strange to watch one wheel spin forward while the other spun backward!

Thanks. One less thing to worry about.
