I had a similar experience. First night I drove, happened to be raining? Most of my fuses failed. Think it was just their time and lucas's curse. replaced them with genuine german fuses (which almost fit) and have not had a problem since.

BTW.. all the fuses looked fine, but few worked reliably. They were the junk with the paper in them.

I figured I'd be chasing down shorts all winter.. but ... knock on wood It was just a matter of fuses and vibrating the sockets and connections a bit.

Where I'm frustrated at is, all the lights worked until I pulled my head up from bolting the fuse panel back in place

Nice. This is not uncommon, the ignition switches are not that great. Good idea!

Just got back from trying that too, seems to have electricity passing through.
For fun did pull the harness apart enough to put a hot wire between to the plugs & everyone of the connection(all lights) worked that way.
Just no juice upto switch/stalk.

Scrubs - do the high beams work? I had a connection for the lights on mine go at the hi-low beam/ blinker stalk and not the light switch itself. Pretty similar situation - I was changing the front marker light to LED with WeatherPack connectors and once done my main headlights wouldn't go on but the highbeams would. I just took the wire for the highbeam and put it to the low beam line. So low beams do work but Hi beams don't. It's been a few months so I might not be exact in how I fixed it. I do know it was the hi-low beam/blinker stalk.

And I do remember it being a tricky wiring setup. I kept thinking my light switch is fine why the hell aren't the lights on. IIRC power goes to the light switch and then the hi/low beam connection. Or maybe it's backwards - like I said it didn't make sense. The "dip beam" like Jeff said makes it confusing while reading the wiring schematic too.

Hope this helps.

Well, just walked back in from switching ignitions n it's not that either.
Don, I believe your correct being the stalk it's self.
Whenever I hook a hot wire to any of the lighting connections I get light really good light, better than before.
Figuring the stalk has been working but not to 100% & after cleaning the fuse panel termnals finally pushed it too far with good juice going through it.

is this possible?

Update,
This morning took 6 way convoy switch apart and a long brass screw in the center fell out, upon reattaching it the lights came on.
Go figure, I'd never guessed to look there.
All is good for now.
Thank you all!!!

Scrubs - glad to hear you figured it out. I should have remembered you have an ex-MOD truck and mentioned that - I think someone recently had the same/similar issue.
