What size are a Defenders headlight?

I am looking for a set of mess headlight protectors and I am wondering if something like this would work.

www.quadratec.com/products/13107_02.htm

Or if anybody has a better idea, please let me know.

Seems like mesh covers would promote Yuckiness build up on your headlights. Clear film if you are looking for some chip protection?

I'm currently developing two styles made from Type 3 Anodized Aluminum so they will never flake paint and rust like powder coated ones tend to do. I have no experience with the jeep style mesh but seems flimsy and they are too close to the lens to offer any real protection.

I can see the need for fancy headlights, but the parts store ones I buy are like $13 a piece so I have done without and, knock on wood, I have never had a headlight get chipped or anything.
