What is this?

Hey guys a few days ago i started leaking oil(more than a regular land rover does) and i am not sure what it is coming from. I have a 2.5 NA diesel and it is leaking in front of the oil pan and right behind the crank pulley. Its like a plate with a hole and a mesh screen? I will post a picture up later but i have no idea what it is? Anf what to do to stop it? Someone help please
Dylan

Just a guess - oil spilling out from the front main seal into the timing case?

Mesh is part of the breather for the cam belt cover. the "hole" is where the wading plug goes in (for going through deep water)

IF engine oil is coming out, then your crank front seal is leaking. you'll need to strip the front cover and timing belt off, then pull the lower bet sprocket and then change the seal.

It'll pay to change the belt at the same time... the rubber can sometimes degrade when its covered in old oil.

Plus you'll need to clean out the whole area of old oil. Brake cleaner or petrol is good.

Thats what i thought it could have been. But i got my timing belt done a month or two ago. Along with the front crank seal. So is that only thing it could be?because than my Mechanic either never put it in or didnt put it in correctly.
