What is this?

Hi All,

What is this? It doesn't look like the right part based on the underside of other D90's I've seen. It's on underside of the passenger side closer to the rear axle.

What entails in replacing it for what belongs there?

Thanks.

It's the fuel filter, but it should be on the other side of the frame & on top of it. Someone got sloppy, though in it's original position its a PITA to service.

Doesn't look like the proper fuel filter. Can I just order a new one, disconnect this one, reconnect new on and secure better leaving it in this position for access?

Thanks.

Should look like this. Looks like someone has hacked up your fuel lines so you won't be able to put the correct filter back on. It's hard to tell but it looks like they cut the male threads off of your lines.

I think a lot of people do this and use a fuel filter with barb fittings since the factory fittings are prone to rusting together. Its not a big deal, it would be nice if the mounting strap was still there.
