What is this?

Is it the factory amp? Speaker leads come out of it....

Wabsco ABS computer for the GEMS EFI system. It doesn't work as ABS but the wheel sensors read like ABS sensors and it feed the info to the GEMS EFI computer (in a 97 NAS D90).

If you have speaker wires coming in or out of that ECU you have serious issues.

Ah, let me clarify; speaker leads are bundled in with the wiring harness to it. I take I need this thing to run? Takes up way to much space in that box.

Factory amp normally mounts using that hole you see to the left of the ECU in your picture and the 3 others that are on that side panel.
