What is the best gearlube to use in Trans

I have a Lt85 making a bit of bearing noise, output shaft so it seems...everything accept 4th gear is making a bit of noise.

I was thinking about adding AMSOIL or Mobile One.......

Anybody have a suggestion of which one is better or a better one altogether to use??

Redline MTL SEARCH. As far as your issues may help but only a bandaid.

MTL is better. I have one full container of that Royal Purple if anyone wants it, shipping + 6pack funds and its yours. I tried the RP I ran it for a couple months went back to the Redline MTL.

I had not considered those, even though I have heard of them. Redline is very good stuff & Royal Purple I have only used there oil so I cant comment for trans fluid.

Mike, read this thread from disco web on oils. Mobil 1 synthetic is apparently not a good choice.

I recently switched to rotella myself - happy so far.

I have a LT85 in my truck too and it is a rougher louder tranny than other. When I first got my truck the shifting was a little rough and a little noisy, I replaced it with Redline MTL. It's a litt;e pricey but it made a big difference in noise and rough shifting. Shifting is much easier with Redline. I have talked with other LT85 owners and they told me Mobile one did not help with rough shifting or with noise.
Go with Redline.

Remember it's a LT85 and it will never be as smooth as other Land Rover transmissions but if you can put up with that you gain a very stout transmission.
