Finally rolled it out of the garage for the first time since purchasing it over a year ago. Gave it a good wash and buff, and installed the roof rack I built for it. Even drove it a bit after bleeding the brakes, few things left on the punch list before it's done but almost there.

Meatman, just a suggestion, post pictures of what went bad. It will not only support what you say, but also educate people what to look out for on similar items, regardless of source.

Congratulations. It's good to be actually driving something you've been looking at and working on instead of actually driving.

I didn't initially actually mean to hijack my congratulatory message to you, but "what I did to my Defender today" was drive it. Picked up a load of lumber on some very muddy roads. On the way back home I saw a 109 on the side of the road, which is very unusual around here.

Its awkward looking to say the least. between the odd placed window, lack of standard rear overhang and goofy looking wheels its definitely has its own special uniqueness.

I don't remember the details, but I think it's a hybrid with something else. Underneath I think it's a Chevrolet or something.

Lots-a parts degreasing, cleaning and gasket scraping today. Decided to remove the oil pan to take a peak at the main bearings. Not too bad but time to replace'm.

Removed a few parts to replace the crankshaft pulley, and removed the drivers door to replace a stripped mirror bolt.

I should just carry around a cinder block. Would be much cheaper.

It got dark and I lost track of the dog for a minute so no finished pic.

Spent Sunday figuring out why the truck would not start. Ended up being the starter. Today I received a few 200TDi bits and a Devon 4x4 dual battery bracket.

I installed a cargo management system today. Pretty nice product from US Cargo Control. I secured it to the tub using rivnuts.

Those appear to be the Kexby (Abrooks) tactical seat covers...one of these days I need to get myself a set! Until then, I'm using one of Dave's hand-me-downs...
