Beltway would make a great Nascar race track.

Picked up five used TWR wheels for $150 which once the tires are off will get cleaned up and put into my parts storage. Ready for future use.

No Jeff, I'm keeping it standard and simple. Steering is fine as long as the wheels are rolling when you try and turn, less wear on the tyres that way too.

Collected the replacement steering box from the courier this evening, happy to say it's oil tight and without play.
I just need to put a new gaiter on the ball joint and I'll be good to go.

Finished-ish my 300TDI/R380 conversion. Fired her off for the first time. Still have some sorting out to do, but I am happy as hell right now.

replaced my tranny fluid to check on its condition. some metal on the magnetic plug. a few small particles in the bottom of the oil pan. nothing too alarming...so far so good.

last fill was with pennzoil synchromesh, this time i filled with honda mtf / mtf94.

seems to work ok in a short drive to georgetown...no real noticeable performance difference.

Pulled the front axle to install a disco axle. Hopefully I'll get it installed this evening.

Pin shocks suck.

Fitted the replacement Adwest manual steering box today, straight swap with the leaky Gemmer box.
Took the opportunity to re-grease the ball joint while everything was in pieces.
