Swapped out the 2.5NA fuel filter housing for a 300TDi housing and installed new fuel lines.
You have got to love a self bleeding diesel motor. I filled the filter up with fuel and it fired right up.

Did you run into trouble? I did the same and had so much trouble. I had to get the hose modified due metric and standard size bolts. It was driving me crazy for >2weeks.

Completely removed upper dash, finally got old wiper arms off and replaced them with new arms and sil-blade wipers, painted crash pad black with duplicolor vinyl paint, painted other trim, removed old seats and replaced with new exmoor trim seats, and removed center cubby. Its been a busy two days...

Scored a used Southdown steering guard thankfully with all the brackets and hardware. Already had the axle guard from my D1 which is already on the truck.
This weekend's round to it list just grew a little!

Started process of rebuilding/refinishing rear tire carrier. Removed tire carrier, tapped out brass bushings (3+ hour job) and took it all to the sandblaster/powder coater, should be ready by Friday! I have plastic delrin bushings from McMaster for rebuilding the hinges, I plan to reuse original bolts as they appear to be in pretty good shape.
Degreasing brass bushings kinda just for fun and so that I can use the original bushings to determine diameter of the delrin bushings which I have to file down a bit or something.
On another note I have a set of stainless screws and aluminum wing top vent covers in black powdercoat on order from Nakatenenga, can't wait to see what I get!

Can I ask why you would go plastic vs brass?

1.) affordability (RN/AB kits are a bit pricey compared to McMaster option)
2.) I found a thread on this forum titled 'Stop the Rattling!!!' where the original poster decided to use these particular delrin bushings from McMaster because they fit the bolts better than the stock bushings and limited the play in the hinges and apparently did not have to be greased. The benefits of reducing/limiting the rattling and not getting grease on your clothing/hands and softop when removing/installing the softop and/or working in that area was appealing to me. It started to seem to me that even after I had greased my tire carrier, the thing would rattle anyways. If the delrin turns out to not last or 'stop the rattling' perhaps I may switch to brass but I also needed to have the rack sandblasted and re-powdercoated anyways. I think other members here have gone with the plastic or delrin option too over the brass.

Support local! I like the wing top vent covers that nathanwind has been selling way more anyway.

Does it latch with the same antiluce as the tailgate? Any pics of it open? And while your at it, any pics of the 416 progress.

I don't get why people cover their license plates for forum photos. You drive anywhere and hundreds of people can see it, but you'll hide it from 40 guys on a forum.

Yes it locks with the antiluce and yes I'll get some more pix up. The 416 remains untouched up to now. To damn hot to work on it.

I drive with it covered too. Saves me from the photo radar vans that the city of Scottsdale loves so much.
