Today I receive a replacement fan clutch I will attempt to replace tomorrow (nothing like a last minute repair...).
I found out why my clutch have had some weird behaviors for the last couple of months, refilled with fluid and reinstalled the cap (correctly this time...).
Tightened the front output flange on the t-case and that seemed to have helped with the oil leak (maybe the felt seal is not soaked yet? ).

------ Follow up post added September 29th, 2016 01:36 AM ------

She been park for about 2 years, change out a few bits like front swivels, wheel bearings, belts , ignition switch, oil unit sensor, etc....can't believe all these things went bad just by siting....

Especially with the 1/4" BSP drain plugs on some 300TDis, lots of folks have managed to strip the threads in the bung by over tightening. The Fumoto drain thingmo allows you to torque the valve into the bung and never have to do so again. And it makes it freaking easy to drain the oil--just remove the plastic safety clip, rotate the handle, and oil comes out in a very gentlemanly way, without squirting all over the driveway by shooting past your oil pan, or getting all over your arm.

I used it sooner than I thought I would when I realized the first gallon of oil I'd put in after the oil change was the wrong weight. . . it is indeed ridiculously easy to drain the oil.

FumotoŽ USA | Quick and Easy Engine Oil Drain Valves

You'll still get oil all over everything when you do the filter, though. . .

All my vehicles have had Fumoto for decades. Get the ones with the hose barb. A little length of hose and it is mess free.

Totally meant to get one with the barb but then got so focused in the adapter that I spaced it. Fortunately it's still remarkably non messy even without the hose.

What size/model works on the V8 oil pan? Anyone know?

Edit: Their site sucks. Looks most likely to be the t-202N (but I haven't tried it personally). This is the nippy version and t-202ns is short nipple which may be better--which I would want to facilitate the 90 degree turn.

Would love to know the best one for the V8 as well. Also, do you buy from their site or a third party retailer?

Woah I just got the normal Mantec branded one. I didn't know there was a LR one.

Is there a difference?

Bought a TD5

Today I bought my first Landrover.

It's a 2004 TD5 in black. It's being delivered later in the week.

Wishing the week away

Replaced the mushroomed, flaking chrome lash caps in my truck with the Empi hardened caps.

Cheap at $8 and they fit like original.

Happily an Engine, transmission, and transfercase all fit in a 110 as one unit (HS 2.8, HP22, LT230), Even better that it came out without damaging anything or dropping the whole thing.
