Installed RN bonnet mounted spare

Well these parts have been sitting in my garage for over a month and on this holiday break it seemed a good a time as any to tackle the install. I have to say that it went far easier than I expected with the exception of some rivets that where not long enough to go through the hood and the mounting plate so I had to drill them out and install using some spare nuts and bolts. That solution worked perfectly.

All in it took me about 4 hours some time of which I spent messing around trying to figure out how to take the bonnet off and it turned out far easier than I was making it.

I will say I have heard a lot of concerns about opening the hood with it on (not that I will do that but generally take it off to open) but even with it on it isn't as bad as expected. Visibility with the 7.50 x 16 is no worse than having my Lowrance Sat Nav mounted where it is in terms of visibility limitations.

Overall very happy with the install and look.

Looks good. If you haven't done so, it would be a good idea to use Antiseize on the fasteners to avoid corrosion.

That's not a POE, it's a painted fiberglass hardtop. I think if you're going to use that top, the painting it is the only way to go.

Not a POE as noted. It is a OEM fiberglass top that I put on for winter months. When I purchased the truck it came with it and was already painted. I think it looks so much better painted than dark grey.

I started fitting the acoustic matting system this stuff is super heavy and painful to work with in cooler temps. Still need to cut the battery and storage lids.

Anyone have any tips or pictures of how they cut them in?

I used a hole saw for the seat bolts (you need to space them up as well) and a straight edge and a lot of cuts for the cubby boxes..

What tires are those - they look awesome. And like the hood kit - need to add that to the wish list.

Andy those are Michelin XZL's in 7.50x16. I have those on my Series I. I think you saw them at Bens

Finished my mudpod switches and some wiring. Threw in some 12v sources on mod switch panel as well as some cab lighting (led strip lights, might go a different direction but light output is great). Wired in the front and rear led lights. Need to run a 12v to bed area for fridge. Progress..

I created a small front runner rack from the partially disassembled and incomplete front runner D90 rack I had stored in my garage. Amazingly it fits perfectly in the rear tub of the 90. All I have to do now is to fashion some mounting brackets for it. It'll sit high enough that I can slide a fridge underneath and still be able to access gear through the gullwing windows. I'm pretty stoked I was able to put this together from "left overs". Originally I had my Maggiolina sit on my D90 rack but it was too top heavy so I took 3 cross bars with feet from the rack to mount the tent on. Hence the left overs.
