All summer I have been suffering from hot air still coming through the vents...has anyone ever put a bypass just prior to the heater core that you could close off the core during the summer and then open during the winter?
I just drove cross country this summer with the same problem in my '72 series 88. Got to the west coast and realized my heater cable was snapped and the heat was on the whole time.

Put a valve in the line coming from the engine to isolate the core.

Installed the steering guard / skid plate I bought as a take-off via eBay. I'm not 100% sure but I believe it is the Rovers North aluminum plate with galvanized bracketry. Beautifully easy install and high-quality & heavy-duty product. I like the new look.

Nice! I have an eclipse installed the same way. AVN 7000 or something. It's great but old and I didn't know anyone was still making these single din flip GPS units except clarion? I'm a big Kenwood fan!

On board air phase 1 is complete, arb compressor mounted in the passenger seat cubby along with the switch and air outlet.
I'll move the switch to the dash when I finalize that plan. Right now I just coiled the excess wiring harness in there.
Truck lites re-installed

Sold the jeep and some of the stuff, and bought a hard top

Pics dammit!

FYI I recently did this same exact thing. I put in an ON-OFF-ON Carling, the first on is my lockers and the other on runs the 2nd compressor. I also plumbed an air fitting through the seat box so I can just plug in my external air line without removing the passenger seat or cover - it's nice to have easy access. Lastly, I put a regulator gauge in-line set to 40psi so it'll automatically shutoff when airing up the tires.

LOL.. I'll take them.. Like I said its phase 1, so "installed awaiting use" so I can finalize placement of the outlet and inlet.. And most importantly I need to decided which way I'm going for switches... Which is the real hold up.
I would like a gauge as well for air pressure.

Now
Switch location possibilities are.
SDO panel 4 carlings and 2 outlets - but I'm short 2-3 switch locations
Add.. A in dash DIN radio mount + 7 carlings

Both of those leave out the ICOM. And the 2 gauges I want to add for air pressure and oil pressure.

So decisions- decisions.
A MUD UK console maybe.

Chasing down a coolant leak on my truck, so I installed a semi-permanent pressure test connector.

Pressurizing the coolant system with 20-30 psi from the OBA is the intent.

Installed new sockets, boots, etc. for rear drive/stop lamp. Kit from RN makes it super easy.

Also installed new hoses from flame arrestor etc.
no real reason just prolly time to replace.

Today I replaced the P-gasket (coolant leak) and the water pump gasket. I also installed a new 100A alternator and upgraded the alternator cable to 4AWG. Running coolant cleaner this week so I can squeak by before its time for a new radiator. Only two more weekends to get the truck prepped for the Alvord Desert in Southeastern Oregon. I'll be out there for 10 days.
